Why Are My Cucumber Plants Dying? Follow any of One From These 5 Methods

Cucumber plant is very fast grown up. But normally one of the most common problems is sometimes need to pollinate them by hand. Also giving water too much to keep them grown up steady?

Why are my cucumber plants dying? Basically ,lack of water, and some insects, such as powdery mildew, aphids and whiteflies. These problems cause leaves to turn yellow and die prematurely.

If you are overwatering your cucumber plant, you may notice some leaves turning dry, yellow or brown. These leaves can no longer make photosynthesize and it is best to remove them. This will help the plant to focus its energy on new growth by removing dead leaves or leaves.

Cucumber plants can dry out in low temperatures. During the cold weather it is more difficult for plants to absorb water, especially when the soil is frozen.

Make in mind, cold and wet soil is a place for many fungi, some of which can make thin your cucumber plants. If the temperature drops below 50 degrees F and the soil around your cucumber plant remains damp, this may be the case.

Although cucumbers enjoy warm weather, it can still be too hot to handle them. If you notice your cucumbers wilting during a heat wave, they may be getting too hot. Arrange shade for your cucumber plants some shade during the hottest time if you can.

Another way to treat this type of wilting is to water your cucumbers more frequently. In the hottest weather Water vanishes more quickly, so your plants can not absorb water what they need.

Overwatering or lacking of soil drainage can also cause plants like cucumbers to wilt and die. Water saturates the soil and makes it difficult for the roots to receive oxygen.

As a result plants cannot survive without access to oxygen and other essential gases found in the soil. Avoid overwatering or planting cucumbers in heavy, slow-draining soil.

Cucumbers sometimes dry out during high heat, especially when the heat is accompanied by drying air. You will observe this in tropical countries and in this situation , the leaves lose water faster than the roots can absorb moisture from the soil.

8 to 10 hours per day is good. Cucumber plants can still produce fruit with less sunlight, but amount will be little.

If you notice your cucumber plant dying, the first thing you need to do is find out exactly what is causing the plant to die. This is very important because if you don’t find out  the cause of your tree’s death, you won’t be able to treat it.

  • Check your plant’s leaves
  • Second check the soil around them for any insects or bacteria.
  • Check if the plant is getting the required amount of sunlight.

 

Ok then start the below any of these 5 methods after finding the actual problem:

 

1.Keep clean surrounding your plants:

If any pests appear on or near the plant, use insecticides to keep them away from your plant. Remove any weeds around your plant.

2.Water them regularly:

Check the soil at the bottom of the cucumber plants. Water immediately if the top 1 inch dries out. Water cucumbers about 1 to 2 inches per week, enough to keep the top 6 inches of soil evenly moist.

Water more frequently in warm weather when the soil dries out more quickly. If the soil feels soggy or wet, overwatering may cause drying out. Reduce watering and let the soil dry out a bit.

3.Using Mulch in cucumber plants:

Use a 2-inch layer of straw mulch over the soil to keep slow evaporation and keeping retain soil moisture. Mulches defeat weed growth, prevent and reduce insect vectors.

4.Apply fertilizer:

Give 1/4 cup of 21-0-0 nitrogen fertilizer per 10-foot row when plant vines begin to grow. Nitrozen lacking can result in weak, yellow leaves, but it will covern when you use fertilizer . As a result  green, limp leaves. Sprinkle the fertilizer 6 inches from the plant and water the soil.

5.Remover insects if already Occured:

Check the bottom of the leaves for small, pear-shaped aphids if the leaves begin to dry and curl or show discolored spots. If then wash these cucumber plant pests with a sharp water spray or spray infested plants with a prepared insecticidal soap.

Continue this spray in every three days until the aphids are gone.

6. Prevent Fungal Infections:

Prevention of fungal infections Verticillium wilt, the most common fungus that affects cucumbers, has no cure. This causes the leaves to dry up, turn yellow and eventually die the plant.
